Joe Perry is probably my favorite member of Aerosmith, he’s the lead guitarist. In this picture he’s playing the Perry guitar which is a Gibson with a picture of his wife on it because he loves his wife very much. He does backup vocals and etc, he’s actually a pretty good singer, he did lead vocals in his Joe Perry Project years but his voice is pretty different from Aerosmith’s trademark sound and the songs he wrote for JPP are mostly different from the kind of music Aerosmith plays.
Joe Perry was ranked 84th in the Rolling Stone’s list The 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time.In 2001, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as part of Aerosmith, and in 2013, Perry and his songwriting partner Steven Tyler were recipients of the ASCAP Founders Award and were also inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.In October 2014, Simon & Shuster released Rocks: My Life In and Out of Aerosmith, written by Joe Perry with David Ritz. The Perry guitar belongs to one of his tons of best guitars, frequently appearing in his tours.
On February 8th, Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry hit the stage of the Fox Theater at Foxwoods Casino in Ledyard, CT as an extended member of the band TAB, the band created by his sons (Tony on guitar and Adrian on bass and vocals). Rounding out the band is Ben Tileston on drums. The band rocked the crowd into musical bliss with a mixture of TAB originals, Aerosmith tunes, songs from Joe Perry’s solo projects as well as a few covers. Perry guitar was used on the stage.
